The School of Computing at Laksamana College of Business develops students with the essential technical, analytical, and professional competencies required in today’s digital economy. Through a blend of practical learning, industry-relevant curriculum, and exposure to modern technologies, our programmes prepare students to become adaptable, future-ready IT professionals.

Ms. Saritha Viswam Kalathil
Our programmes emphasise practical, project-based learning, with degree students completing major projects in their second and final years that are showcased at the end of each semester, providing valuable exposure to industry expectations, professional networking opportunities, and participation in major competitions. Through this approach, we aim to develop graduates who are technically competent, industry-ready, and prepared to contribute meaningfully to the digital economy in Brunei and beyond.
Programme Pathways at a Glance
BTEC Level 2 Diploma in IT
- Entry-Level Foundation
For students with 4 O-Level passes (4 English-medium subjects, or 2 English-medium and 2 Malay-medium subjects). This programme introduces core IT and digital skills, building a foundation for further study. Progress to the BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT.
BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT
- Developing Technical Skills
Suitable for students with a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in IT or an O-Level equivalent. Students build practical skills in programming, systems development, and applied IT projects. Progress to the Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Computing or BSc Computer Science (Year 1)
Foundation in Information Technology
- Degree Preparation Pathway
For students with 4 O-Level credits (all English-medium subjects). This programme prepares students academically and technically for undergraduate computing degrees. Progress to the BSc (Hons) Computer Science.
BTEC Level 5 HND in Computing
- Applied & Specialised Learning
Open to students with a Level 3 qualification or relevant foundation. Students specialise in Software Engineering or Application Development and Testing, with a strong emphasis on real-world problem solving. Progress to final-year degree top-up or related degree pathways.
BSc (Hons) Computer Science
- University of Essex (UK)
For students progressing from the Foundation in IT or BTEC Level 5 HND in Computing, subject to university requirements. Students complete major projects in their second and final years, showcasing their work and gaining exposure to industry expectations, networking opportunities, and competitions. Graduate with an internationally recognised UK degree.
