529 Graduates Feted

Laksamana College of Business (LCB) held a graduation ceremony for 529 graduates, who completed their programmes, at the Songket Ballroom of The Rizqun International Hotel yesterday.

The ceremony honoured the achievements of students from various programmes, including those affiliated with the University of Essex, University of Chester, Pearson BTEC, Kensington College of Business (KCB) and City and Guilds.

Graduates comprised those in Foundation Law, Airline Hospitality Business (AHB), Diploma in Culinary Arts, Computing, Business, Tourism and Hospitality from University of Essex and University of Chester degree programmes.

This year’s graduation saw 21 first class graduates from University of Essex and University of Chester degree programmes.

LCB and KCB Director and Principal Ian Pirie; Abdul Razak Holdings Director Haji Suhaimi Besar and LCB Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Principal S Sivarajah were also in attendance.

Pirie in his speech said that the success of the college would not be possible without the support of the government of Brunei, the British government as well as the university partners, Brunei partners and staff, parents and students of the college.

Nine graduates earned First Class Honours, and another 12 received the Dean’s Letter.

The event also featured a special valedictorian speech by selected LCB students who achieved First Class Honours and exemplary student spouse of the Ambassador of Timor-Leste to Brunei Darussalam Ana Paula Maria Mok Guterres, and Haji Muhammad Fahmi
bin Lasa.
