Graduation ceremony fetes 731 students
A total of 731 students of Laksamana College of Business (LCB) graduated in Business, Hospitality, Computing and Culinary courses from the Kensington College of Business, Pearson BTEC and City and Guilds programme during the college graduation ceremony at the Songket Ballroom, The Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong yesterday.
The event was divided into a morning session for the class of 2020 graduates and afternoon session for 2021 graduates.
Minister of Education Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hamzah bin Haji Sulaiman presented the certificates during the morning session.
British High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam John Virgoe was present.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Education Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh presented the certificates during the afternoon session.

Director of LCB Haji Suhaimei bin Haji Besar and Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Principal Sivarajah Subramaniam were also present.
Sivarajah lauded students, lecturers and staff‘s hard work in ensuring LCB able to adapt to new norms especially in delivering and receiving lessons.
He also highlighted that the graduation ceremony is the largest to date with more than 700 graduates and over 1,800 attendees for the morning and afternoon sessions, along with 15 Best Students for Class of 2020.
He also shared on the commencement of the new master’s programme awarded by University of Chester in March 2021, as well as the possible development of two new courses and a new annex building in 2022.
Meanwhile, the British High Commissioner congratulated the college on the many United Kingdom (UK) courses and qualifications being awarded during the ceremony, adding that the close ties in education between the UK and Brunei are very important to the bilateral relationship now and in the future.
The event also saw speeches by the Top Students from the various courses.
Out of the 731 graduates, 375 graduates are from Class of 2020 and 356 graduates are from Class of 2021 from various programmes including the University Foundation Course, KCB Programmes in Higher Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Certificates, Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Business (Accounting/Marketing), Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Hospitality Management, Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Computing and Systems Development, Pearson BTEC Level 4 HNC in Computing and Systems Development, Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in IT, Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality, Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business, Pearson BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Business, and City & Guilds Culinary Arts.
