The participants engaged in live cooking, producing French entrée (starter) and plat principal (main course) judged by jury panel comprising French Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Christian Ramage, member of the Board of Directors of Alliance Française Pierre Imhof, French pastry chef Vincent Bostyn and winner of the previous Alliance Française 2020 baking competition and cook enthusiast Muris.

Meanwhile, Mikaaeilyiana binti Ariahim and Haji Mohd Fatin Faiz bin Muhammad Firdaus Lau from IBTE won BND600 for best plat principal.

It also provided exposure for youth with passion in the culinary arts by giving them the opportunity to apply the knowledge gained and be creative in preparing international cuisines.
Christian Ramage pointed out that during the Francophonie event, all French embassies and consulates at countries present, will promote the French language, culture, literature cinema movies and cuisine.
“A competition such as this can provide good exposure for the local youth, especially those looking for working opportunities abroad and simultaneously provide an opportunity for the embassy or Alliance to promote French gastronomy.”
The event concluded with a prize presentation, with Christian Ramage and Pehin Dato Seri Setia Haji Hazair presenting prizes to the winners.
