LCB holds food safety seminar
Laksamana College of Business (LCB) held a seminar on ‘How to Get Food Safety Culture Back on the Business Menu’ at the college’s Lecture Hall yesterday.
Associate Professor in Cultural Management of University of Sunderland, Faculty of Business Law and Tourism Dr Derek Watson was the speaker.
Watson touched on how United Kingdom (UK) food manufacturers are constantly challenged. He highlighted on the core values in food culture and Food Safety Cultural Compliance. He also shared theories on the Tricomponent Attitudinal Model, Lewin’s Model and John Adair and Food Culture.
He also talked about the 4Cs: control, cooperation, communication and competence. He discussed the importance of positive feedbacks to employees.
The seminar ended with a question and answer session.
Head of the Culinary School Luke Macann, members of Britain Brunei Business Forum (BBBF), instructors and students from Youth Development Centre, representatives from hotels in Brunei, representatives from local restaurants as well as LCB students of Level 1 Certificate in Food Preparation and Cookings and Level 2 Diploma in Food Preparation and Cookings were in attendance.
