Donations handed out as Ramadhan coming to a close

DONATIONS continue to flow in the final days of Ramadhan.

Members of Persatuan Kereta Tahan Lasak Brunei (PKTLB) presented donations in the form of basic necessities to 35 senior citizens, widows and differently abled individuals residing in Kampong Batong and Kampong Panchor Murai. The donation also came from several individuals.

The ceremony at the Jefri Bolkiah Mosque in Kampong Batong began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by the handing over of donations by the PKTLB Head of Welfare Abidin bin Haji Musa.

Head of Female Congregants of Kampong Batong Hajah Kamariah binti Haji Badar and Acting Village Head of Kampong Panchor Murai Haji Ismail bin Haji Jumat also attended.

PKTLB also handed over donations to three destitute families in Kampong Kasat.

Meanwhile, Laksamana College of Business (LCB) opened its doors to orphans and their guardians, as well as college students for the breaking of fast.

The event opened with the recitation of Tahlil, and continued with the breaking of fast and Sunnat Tarawikh prayer. LCB has hosted the event a few times in the past year.

“What a meaningful event this was, bringing us together for an opportunity to celebrate this holy month of Ramadhan with LCB,” said an orphan.

“I am grateful that we are able to host this event with the rest of the student councils, being able to give back and putting a smile on their face brings a good feeling,” said President of the LCB Student Councils Angela Yong.
