Talk aims to allay public speaking jitters

IT IS common among many that the fear of public speaking happens when performing or expecting to perform an oral presentation or speech in front of other people, with some experts saying such fear is the most common of all phobias.

In this regard, a talk titled ‘Fear of Public Speaking’ delivered by Soapbox creator Edwin Lim was held at Laksamana College of Business (LCB) recently to help alleviate such common fear.

About 70 students of the Final Year Degree in Computer Science, University of Chester and Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Business attended the talk. The courses’ lecturers were Elaine and Amrina.

In the talk, Edwin Lim focussed on topics such as ‘How to enhance soft skill capability’, ‘Ways to promote self-confidence’, ‘To increase marketability and credibility’, ‘To have a better insights in handling audiences’ and ‘Making presentations the professional way’.
