OVER 400 students who completed BTEC programmes, university foundation courses and programmes in Business, Hospitality and Computing courses were presented with certificates at the second day of the Laksamana College of Business (LCB) 2018 graduation ceremony.
The ceremony was held at the Songket Ballroom, The Rizqun International Hotel, Gadong.
Guest of honour Deputy Minister of Education Datin Seri Paduka Dr Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh was handed over the certificates to the graduates.
In his welcoming speech, Director/Principal of LCB/Kensington College of Business Ian Pirie revealed about the opening of the new culinary school in September and launching of two new degree courses in Hospitality and Tourism; new Masters and first degree level courses in Computing, Finance and Management; a new office for the Student Council inside LCB for its major role in assisting with the LCB 15th anniversary celebration; the establishment of an Alumni Association of LCB and organising clubs for sports, social events, singing and acting.
The British Deputy High Commissioner to Brunei Darussalam Natalie Gowers Barnes; directors, heads and senior officers of the Ministry of Education; Director of LCB Haji Suhaimei bin Awang Besar, Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Principal Srivarajah Subramaniam and Administration Manager Bogusia Mischke were also present at the event.
The first day of the ceremony was specifically for University of Chester UK degree students and an overall of 535 students graduated this year from various programmes, namely university foundation courses; KCB programmes; Pearson BTEC 5 HND in Business, Hospitality and Management, Computing and Systems Development; Pearson BTEC Level 4 in Computing and Systems Development; Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Business; Pearson BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Hospitality; and Pearson BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Business.
