THE Accreditation Service for International Colleges (ASIC) in the United Kingdom bestowed the Laksamana College of Business (LCB) with its first recognition for any college in Brunei, during the ASIC 10th Anniversary Awards dinner event at the Inter-Continental Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia recently.
The award was presented to Sivarajah Subramaniam, the Chief Operating Officer/Deputy Principal of the Laksamana College of Business, as an acknowledgement of the educational quality at the college, both locally and internationally. It also recognises LCB’s mission and vision to educate every Bruneian with the finest international educational experience.
The Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC UK) is an independent international educational standards assessment agency, providing education consultancy and accreditation service for schools, colleges, universities, training organisations and online/distance learning providers worldwide.
Accreditation through ASIC helps students and parents make more informed choices, allows them to gain a realistic and honest picture of what an institution is really like in terms of quality, resources, student support and ethics.

ASIC has also gained ISO 9001:2008 Accredited Certification, and is a member of the CHEA International Quality Group in the United States of America; the British Quality Foundation; a member of the Global Universities in Distance Education (GUIDE) Association; of the UN Academy Impact group; and The Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA); and an affiliate of the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).
The LCB has met over 90 standards of accreditation on key performance indicators set by ASIC. It also made history with its place among the prestigious list of colleges and universities with ASIC accreditation around the globe.
