LAKSAMANA College of Business (LCB) welcomed more than 160 new students – part of the February/March 2017 intake – yesterday in an official orientation programme held at the Tasek Lama Recreational Park in the capital.
Organised by the LCB Student Council, the orientation was designed as a platform to encourage the freshmen students to participate more in teamwork activities and communicate more with their peers.
It was also meant for the students to gain new experiences and to get to know their fellow students better.
The orientation was attended by LCB staff and lecturers, who also partook in the day’s games and activities.

Students were divided into four houses: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. At this point, the students were further divided into 14 colour-differentiated subgroups: Gryffindor (black, white, blue and dark purple), Slytherin (red, brown and turquoise), Hufflepuff (orange, peach, maroon and light purple) and Ravenclaw (grey, pink and yellow).
The event began with an icebreaking session followed by various interactive and fun games based on the theme ‘Harry Potter Hunt’, such as Quidditch, Dementor’s Lair, Riddle, Crack the Barrier, Mix the Potion and more, challenging the students mentally and physically, and pushing them to work together as a team.
Sivarajah Subramanjam, Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Principal of LCB, presented prizes to the winners of the games at the end of the orientation programme.
