JENESYS JAPAN BADMINTON TRIP

March 2016 — Muhd Edry Izz Ziqry and Siti Radhiah from Laksamana College of Business were called up to join a program called JENESYS. Where they had a chance to represent their college and Brunei Darussalam to play badminton and culture exchange in Japan.

JENESYS is a youth exchange program which is organised and fully funded by the Government of Japan. The program is between Japan, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and other Asian and Oceanian countries.

The two delegates from Laksamana College join up with fifteen other students from different colleges and universities to represent Brunei for the JENESYS programme on the late of March for 10 days.

The friendly badminton matches between Brunei Darussalam and Japan were held at St Ursula Eichi School. The Brunei delegation was given a warm welcome by the school featuring an orchestra performance by the students.

Afterwards, the Brunei team play badminton friendly matches against the students. As a majority, Brunei Darussalam won most of the matches against Japan. All of them had a tremendous amount of fun playing against each other.

As participants of the programme, the Brunei team not only play badminton; but also given the chance to explore around Tokyo and Sendai city to experience the beauty and traditional culture of Japan. Some of those are wearing the traditional Japanese attire called Kimono, Snow playing at Yakurai Mountain and exploring the Matshushima Bay.

Muhd Edry Izz Ziqry and Siti Radhiah would like to thank Laksamana College of Business for giving us an endless amount of support and giving us the opportunity to represent the college overseas in Japan.
