JENESYS JAPAN BADMINTON TRIP

 

 

 

 

March 2016 — Muhd Edry Izz Ziqry and Siti Radhiah from Laksamana College of Business were called up to join a program called JENESYS. Where they had a chance to represent their college and Brunei Darussalam to play badminton and culture exchange in Japan.

 

JENESYS is a youth exchange program which is organised and fully funded by the Government of Japan. The program is between Japan, Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and other Asian and Oceanian countries.

 

The two delegates from Laksamana College join up with fifteen other students from different colleges and universities to represent Brunei for the JENESYS programme on the late of March for 10 days.

 

The friendly badminton matches between Brunei Darussalam and Japan were held at St Ursula Eichi School. The Brunei delegation was given a warm welcome by the school featuring an orchestra performance by the students.

 

Afterwards, the Brunei team play badminton friendly matches against the students. As a majority, Brunei Darussalam won most of the matches against Japan. All of them had a tremendous amount of fun playing against each other.

 

As participants of the programme, the Brunei team not only play badminton; but also given the chance to explore around Tokyo and Sendai city to experience the beauty and traditional culture of Japan. Some of those are wearing the traditional Japanese attire called Kimono, Snow playing at Yakurai Mountain and exploring the Matshushima Bay.

 

Muhd Edry Izz Ziqry and Siti Radhiah would like to thank Laksamana College of Business for giving us an endless amount of support and giving us the opportunity to represent the college overseas in Japan.

CONGRATULATIONS TO LCB'S DODGEBALL TEAM

November 4th marks another win for Laksamana College of Business‘ Dodgeball team at the BPMFASS Inter-College Dodgeball Tournament, organised by Universiti of Brunei Darussalam’s Badan Pergerakan Mahasiswa Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (BPMFASS).

 

LCB Panthers won first place for the Female Category whilst The Laksamana A won third place in the Male Category. We would like to congratulate to both teams representing, and also appreciation to LCB’s Rookie team, The Laksamana B.

 

Kala, our Dodgeball club President and one of the LCB Panthers’ members quoted that “It was a great experience and everyone had fun. I hope to see more girls joining for the next tournament because of mostly boys saja yang turun for the tournament.”

JICE JENESYS PROGRAMME

 

November 7th, two of our student from Laksamana College of Business’ PEARSON BTEC Level 5 HND in Business Marketing, Nurezwatul Hazeera Rabu @ Abdul Raziq and Md Nashrul bin Hj Abu Bakar flew off to Japan for a one-week programme called The JENESYS Programme (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths) - Peacebuilding Society Exchange (1st Batch) from November 8th to November 15th.

 

Participating countries from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, etc. Ezwa and Nashrul are one of the two delegates representing for Brunei Darussalam.

 

JENESYS Programme is a project advanced by the Japanese government from the standpoint of providing a sound foundation for strong solidarity within Asia through large-scale youth exchange, and to promote a mutual understanding and friendly relations. 

 

Our two delegates representing will issue their own article about their journey under this programme in the next issue.
