LCB ORGANISES FIRST EVER HUMAN FOOSBALL EVENT

 

Laksamana College of Business (LCB), as the official organiser for the first Human Foosball event sponsored by RedBull Brunei, conducted a meeting on Wednesday, September 3rd in collaboration with other Student Council bodies from Universities and Colleges such as Badan Pergerakan Mahasiswa Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (BPMFASS), Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar Universiti Teknologi Brunei (MPP UTB), MPP Politeknik Brunei and Student Council of IBTE Nakhoda Ragam campus.

 

The purpose of the conducted meeting was to distribute Foosball handbooks, documents, registration forms, T-shirts for volunteers, flyers and posters to the education centres for the opening launch dated October 15th. The meeting also provides opportunities for networking and bonding sessions between the known education centres.

 

 

During the launch event at Airport mall, various government agencies such as BOMBA, Police MS A and B, Custom, Yayasan, DST, The Department of Youth and Sports (JBS), and National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) were invited to participate. Yayasan has won the Foosball game and received a cash prize worth 300 BND, followed by DST as the 1st runner up, receiving a cash prize worth 200 BND and Polis MS A as 2nd runner up, receiving cash prize worth 100 BND. This Foosball game will be open to the public to join and register, as weekly winners will receive cash prizes and entitled to compete in Grand finale to win 1000 BND cash prize. Each player only need to purchase one can of RedBull as registration.

 
'LAKSA MANA? ULTIMATE' AT THE BARA ULTIUNI CUP 2016

 

The Brunei Adventure Recreation Association (BARA) hosted their ULTIUNI CUP 2016 on the October 9th. Consists of teams from Universities and Colleges, from our very own Laksamana College of Business (LCB), Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD), Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), Jefri Bolkiah Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), Politeknik Brunei 1 and 2, Agrotech Wasan, Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology (CCCT), Micronet International College (MIC), Sultan Saiful Rijal Technical

College (MTSSR), Sultan Bolkiah College, and Nakhoda Ragam College.

 

 

‘LAKSA MANA? ULTIMATE’ were placed in Pool B going against Politeknik Brunei 2 and Nakhoda Ragam College. Even though the team placed 10th in the ULTIUNI  CUP standings, WE managed to reign victorious against Agro-Park Wasan and advanced to battle NR Ultimate for the 1st place in lower pools. Our MVP and top Female scorer was Siti Naqiah Binti Mohd Sam’oun, while the Top Male Scorer was Muhammad Ainul Ashri. The Top Male Assist was Muhammad Hazwan bin Haji Hassan and The Top Female Assist was Farah Qarinah.

 

LAKSAMANA VICTORIOUS IN TOUCH RUGBY

 

 

On Sunday, September 25th, Laksamana College of Business’s (LCB) Rugby proved their dominance by winning FIRST place for the Touch Rugby Tournament organised by Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB), that took place at Universiti Brunei Darussalam’s (UBD) field ground. Congratulations to all the team members who participated in the tournament and bringing home the win! Other participating teams included UBD Sharks who took 2nd place, Universiti Teknologi Brunei (UTB) Vanguard in 3rd Place and lastly Sekolah Menengah Berakas in 4th place. Each team were given awards such as medals and certificates for each individual participating members of the club for winning the tournament. The team brought home a trophy which can now be viewed in the award sections in at the rooftop.

 

 PERFORMING ARTS CLUB TAKES THE SPOTLIGHT

 

On Thursday, October 6th, the Performing Arts Club (PAC) held a jamming session at Games and Latte Café located at Seri Kenangan, Kiulap. Badrul, Redzaimin, Akmal J and Kimmy and the rest of the members who were present during the performance contributed to the organisation of the event on their own fruition.

Two days after the jamming session at Games and Latte Café, Krema Coffee also organised an event called ‘4th Acoustic Pop-Up’. Invited to the event were Muiz Zamri (vocalist) and Redzaimin Ahmad (Guitarist) who together, performed their rendition of Adele’s ‘All I Asked’. The club was recently invited to perform at DE’Lounge Café in Kiulap every Saturday night starting next week. LCB students are welcome to support and join along their activities.
