Graduation 2020

Hats off to all graduates of 2020! Whether you've completed a certificate, diploma, or degree, your hard work deserves some recognition and celebration.

Unfortunately, due to the ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus (Covid-19), the College has decided to postpone the graduation ceremony for the graduates of 2020 to next year in 2021. We truly regret the inconvenience caused however, after careful consideration and following the mass gathering guidelines set by the Ministry of Health, we felt that the postponement is necessary for us to minimise the risk to our students and their guests.

Graduation is an important part of the College/University experience so therefore these ceremonies will have to be rescheduled.  All students will be given the opportunity to graduate in person at a future date next year.  Students from the class of 2020 will be informed of the new dates for our graduation ceremonies when they become available.

With this, Mr Ian Pirie, Director/Principal of Laksamana College of Business (LCB) and a few staff would like to share a few words with the graduates of 2020.

Testimonials

LCB has given me alot of opportunities to develop and grow as a scholar and a person. I am grateful for having been generously awarded with a scholarship which allowed me to further my education and complete my BscHons degree in Computer Science. Beyond the great classes, environment and the amazing lecturers, my time as a student council had brought my self-confidence, skills and capabilities to a new whole new level through real-world practices in the work and events we organised. As a finishing touch to the end of my journey, the college lived up to its motto by introducing a Work Readiness programme which helped me prepare and strategize for the challenges of finding work. Fast forward to a month later, I'm happily employed at Mint Sdn Bhd as a Web Developer. Thank you LCB for caring for my future.

Being in LCB had been a great experience for me, especially being in the Student Council. It has definitely given me some great memories. I love everything in LCB from the friendly and helpful staff and faculty members to the excellent facilities and student life. It goes without saying that without the support of my parents, friends and lecturers I would not have got my First-Class Award!

In my 5 years in LCB from a Diploma holder to a Degree Holder, the lecturers and student councils have helped me achieve a milestone that I did not expect to have achieved. The experience and skills I have learnt will bring me to greater heights. I am grateful to be a part of the student council as Head of the Sports Committee. I would like to thank our Deputy Principal, Mr Sivarajah and our student council for allowing me the opportunity to manage all the CCA activities in LCB since 2017. Thank you LCB for all the valuable memories and congratulations to the class of 2020. Best of Luck!

My three years doing evening-class study at LCB was amazing despite the challenges of balancing my roles and responsibilities as a mother and wife whilst working a full-time job in the government sector. But I am honored and proud to have successfully graduated at LCB with my son. It is inspiring to see the both of us graduating together. This was all achievable with the help from the committed and dedicated lecturers at LCB who bringing their students to their absolute best potential. I am deeply thankful to be amongst the successful students that have graduated from the prestigious private institution in Brunei. Thank you LCB for all the opportunities!

Nur Darwisyah Hannani Abdullah Yong (Mother)

BA (Hons) Business Management

Upon entering LCB, I did not expect to get a UK Degree under the University of Chester programme, however with the help of highly skilled lecturers and the unconditional support from my mother, it has driven me to study harder and further to that, we also pursued our higher education in the same course. I am glad to have graduated together with my mother and am grateful for LCB for always supporting us and for paving our futures.
