Xin Yi Liew
Head of Business & Hospitality

Ms. Xin Yi joined LCB in June 2017 as an Accounting/Finance lecturer, where she has been teaching BTEC HND modules and accounting modules from the KCB programme. In 2019, she expanded her teaching portfolio to include degree modules under the Chester Degree programme, covering modules such as Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Auditing 1, and Auditing 2. With the introduction of the Essex Degree programme in 2023, she continues to impart her knowledge in these modules to undergraduate students.
In January 2024, Ms. Xin Yi was promoted to the Head of the Business/Hospitality department. In this role, she oversees the BTEC programmes for Business and Hospitality, ensuring the highest standards of academic delivery and student support. Her responsibilities include curriculum development, faculty management, and fostering industry partnerships to enhance the practical learning experience for students. She plays a pivotal role in strategic planning and quality assurance, striving to align the department’s goals with the overall mission of the college.
Ms. Xin Yi holds a Master of Teaching with a specialization in Accounting Education from the Universiti of Brunei Darussalam, awarded in 2017. She excelled in her research exercise, obtained an A, with a study focused on the application of variation theory. Her research aimed to create a framework of variation to reveal a series of ways to discern the critical aspects that can enhance students’ learning on accounting topics.
